Leading Lines Assignment

Image
Leading lines are imaginary or actual lines in a photo which point out the main focal point in a photo. They draw attention to what the photographer wanted the people to see. I feel I was able to take photos that demonstrate this concept clearly and also are kind of cool images. In the first photo, I used the lines in the cement and the lines in the wall to draw focus to the car in the image. In the second photo, I used the boat dock and the lines within it to draw attention to the pond. The leading lines photo trick is very interesting and really helps one capture a main focal point within an image.

Rule of Thirds

Image
The rule of thirds is a trick used when taking a photograph. It is when you position an object so that when taking a photograph it is placed in the crosshairs between the thirds of an image going horizontally and vertically. So in each of my photos, I tried to place my main focus point in that region and most of my images turned out okay. The first photo is one I had taken in the school parking lot I tried to position it so the school was set on the left third of the image. The second shot is one I had found in my camera roll which was taken during the summertime and I had taken it so the flowers were in the right third of the photo.

Point of View

Image
I chose to take pictures of a plant for my point of view homework assignment for a couple of reasons. I think plants and nature are pretty so this is why I chose to take pictures of this. The pictures that are taken are from multiple different angles and views of a plant and I think the ones I chose are the best pictures out of all the pictures I took. I felt like this plant would be cool to take pictures of because it looks like little trees. I captured images of it from a top, front, and side view so that I could view it from all sides.
